What Is High Ticket Coaching... And Is It Right for You?

July 21, 20264 min read

High ticket coaching is not just a pricing strategy. It is a commitment.

A commitment to your client's results. To your own growth as a coach. To doing work that actually transforms people rather than just informing them. And when you understand what high ticket truly means, the question stops being "can I charge that much?" and starts being "am I delivering something worth that much?"

What High Ticket Coaching Actually Means

High ticket coaching starts at $2,000 USD and goes much higher. I've seen coaches charge $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, even $100,000 for programs that go deep and deliver real results.

But the number is not the point. The number is a reflection of something else.

High ticket is not the same information at a higher price. It is a fundamentally different model. Instead of working with many clients at low investment, you work with fewer, more committed clients at high investment. Instead of delivering content and hoping people apply it, you take personal responsibility for guiding them through a transformation.

Here is something I discovered that changed my entire approach to coaching. When a client pays more, they do more. They show up. They implement. They take the action that actually produces results. When a client pays very little, they often don't value the work enough to do the work. And when they don't do the work, they don't get results. And when they don't get results, you don't get testimonials or referrals. It becomes a painful cycle for everyone.

High ticket creates a different kind of client. One with real skin in the game. One who is serious.

Is High Ticket Right for You?

High ticket coaching is the right model for you if you have real experience in your niche, you are capable of taking a client from where they are now to a meaningful result, and you want to go deep with a small number of committed people rather than wide with a large number of casual ones.

It is not yet the right model if you haven't clearly identified the transformation you are offering. Because high ticket is not just about charging more. It is about taking responsibility for a result. And you can only do that if you know exactly what transformation you provide, who you provide it for, and what it looks like when they get to the other side.

I teach my clients something I want you to write down. Love your WHO so much that it pains you to see them suffer. When you have that level of care for your ideal client, two things naturally follow. You obsess about growing yourself, because you want to be the best possible help for them. And you obsess about getting them results, because their outcome matters to you personally.

That is the mindset that supports high ticket coaching. Not confidence in your price. Conviction in your results.

The Real Cost of Staying Low Ticket

In August 2021, I did something I thought was smart. I created three funnels and tested seven low-ticket offers. I charged $27 for a workshop. Then $37. Then a membership for $197 a year. I sold and sold and sold. By the end of that month, I had made $8,900.

And I was completely burned out.

That amount of effort and energy for $8,900 left me exhausted. And I realised something that I now teach in every workshop I run: low ticket means high volume, which means high cost on your time and energy. It is not sustainable. It is not freedom.

When I shifted to high ticket, everything changed.

Being able to charge high ticket gave me a life of freedom. Not just financial freedom. Time freedom. I took three weeks off and went to Australia. I went skydiving. I visited the Great Ocean Road with a dear friend. I can take time off whenever I want to. That is what high ticket made possible.

The key to a thriving coaching business is not more clients at lower prices. It is the right clients at a price that reflects the value of what you deliver.

Think about this. There are expensive paintings and cheap paintings. But a painting priced too low will not be valued. People will walk past it. They will not hang it in their home and give it the attention it deserves. Your coaching program is the same. The price is a signal. It tells the client how seriously to take what you're offering.

So here is the question I want to leave you with.

Are you ready to take your coaching seriously enough to charge for the value you deliver?
