But before any of that was true, I was the woman a 6-figure coach looked at and said:

"Hui Hui, you're so shy and introverted. You can't speak well. You don't have a social media following. Who are you to coach others?"

And the hardest part was not that she said it. The hardest part was that a part of me believed her.

Because for most of my life, I had already wondered if there was something wrong with the way I was wired. I was not the loudest person in the room. I was not naturally polished on stage. I did not have a big audience, an online brand, or a personality that screamed "look at me."

So when someone successful said what I already secretly feared, it landed. For three months, I shrank.

But eventually, something in me decided: that cannot be the final verdict on my life.

Where it started

19 years an entrepreneur. Then Covid hit.

Before coaching, I ran an 11-year retail business. I know what it means to grind, to build from nothing, to figure things out without having all the answers, and to keep going even when the path is not clear.

Then Covid destroyed 80% of my retail business. It was painful. Not just financially, but emotionally. When you have poured years of your life into something, it is not just a business. It is your identity. Your proof. Your security.

In September 2021, I made a decision that changed everything. I pivoted into the online coaching space. No email list. No big audience. No online brand. No paid ads. What I had was my experience, my willingness to learn, and a decision to show up before I felt ready.

Let me be honest with you

I did not suddenly become fearless.

I choked during my first Facebook Live. The night before my first workshop, I was so nervous I almost cancelled it. Three months into coaching, I developed what I can only describe as an English phobia, trying to understand clients and mentors from the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy, France, and all over the world, each with different accents.

I almost called it quits. But I kept showing up. Messy. Nervous. Imperfect. Still learning. And that became one of the greatest lessons of my life:

"Confidence does not come before action. Confidence is built by doing the thing before you feel ready."

Within 70 days, I generated my first $100K as a coach. Within 12 months, I crossed $1.1M in sales. By year three, Inner World Training had generated over $4M in revenue, all organically. Since then, the business has grown beyond $5M and has served 500+ coaches across 30+ countries.

Not because I became louder. Not because I became someone else. That is what I know now: the quiet way is a real way.
